We call this a home, because it’s a place we spend a lot of time making memories with family and friends. So, although we rent on a limited basis, it is indeed our home. The benefit to you, our potential guest, is that you will be staying in a well cared for house that truly feels like a home—not a rental.
We rent to families and their extended families, to executives looking to impress clients, or to small groups looking for a nice getaway. We DO NOT rent to large groups of twenty-somethings looking to have a giant party. If that’s what you’re looking for, move on, as this upscale property is not for you.
Roughly 1.5 hours from Philadelphia & NYC, our home is conveniently located in the Pocono Mountains just minutes from major attractions, including Big Boulder/Jack Frost Ski Resorts, Mount Airy Casino, H2O Indoor Water Park, Camelback Ski & Water Park, Pocono Raceway, Penn’s Peak Entertainment Venue, Crossings Premium Outlets, Jim Thorpe, whitewater rafting, paintball, state game lands, and much more (see ATTRACTIONS).
But perhaps the property’s most distinguishing feature is the 135 feet of beautiful lake frontage on crystal clear, spring-fed, 195 acre Lake Towamensing. It has a very large, private, swimming/fishing dock, boat slip, sandy beach, and plenty of grassy area for outdoor activities. Why be one of many people crammed on the community beach, when you could have your own, private beach, away from all the crowds? Our prime location on the small “arm” of the main body of the lake, gives our property additional privacy, which is only enhanced by the uninhabited wetlands directly across the lake. Because the lake is spring-fed, and gas-powered boats are forbidden, it is by far one of the cleanest, most tranquil lakes in the Pocono Mountains. It is well stocked with a variety of fish throughout the year—The fishing is excellent!
Although the exterior surroundings take center stage, the interior furnishings make up the supporting cast. An eclectic mix of vintage antiques and newer, rustic pieces, the furnishings combine with high-end amenities to create a warm, welcoming, laid-back feeling with a touch of sophistication. KITCHEN: Stove, oven, microwave, fridge/freezer with ice maker, toaster, toaster oven, cooking utensils, pots and pans, flatware, plates, bowls, etc. The kitchen is fully stocked, but you must bring groceries!
GREAT ROOM: Leather sectional with recliners, additional seating, 55” LED HDTV, DVD player, Stereo Surround Sound, DVD movies, PC with high speed internet & wifi, chess table, board games, woodburning fireplace (WE provide the wood!), lots of comfy seating, blankets, granite bar, large dining table.
LAUNDRY/MUD ROOM: Washer, dryer, sink, corian counters, closet.
TWO FULL BATHROOMS: Tile floors and corian counters. Downstairs has a jacuzzi tub. Upstairs has a makeup area outside the bathroom.
FOUR THEMED BEDROOMS WITH AC UNITS (SEASONAL):
HEATED GARAGE/GAME ROOM/LIONS' DEN: Billiards table, electronic dart board (you must bring your own darts), 32” LCD TV, iPod speakers, boom box, leather couch, coffee table, seating, card table, sink, and an additional fridge/freezer.
OUTSIDE: Huge, elevated deck with gas grill, dining tables, chairs, and loungers. Large swimming/fishing dock with adirondack chairs and loungers. Boat slip with access to row boat, 2 kayaks and paddle boat (seasonal). Sandy beach with more seating. Horse shoe pits & picnic table. Large grassy area for outdoor activities.
LAKE: One of the cleanest in the Pocono mountains, because it is spring fed and gas-power boats are not allowed. This translates to no pollution, no noise, and no danger of being run over—Tranquility at it's best!
Please note: The only watercraft allowed on Lake Towamensing are those registered by homeowners. Watercraft owned by tenants, is not permitted by the HOA. Also, adults who plan on fishing are required by state law to obtain a fishing license.
COMMUNITY AMENITIES: To be perfectly honest we almost never utilize them, because our property is lakefront. But here are the details, just in case you want to; 8 wristbands are provided at time of registration, which allows you access to the following public/community amenities: small arcade, snack bar, outdoor swimming pool (seasonal), beach, playground, tennis & basketball courts, clubhouse (bar/restaurant).
PROFESSIONAL LINEN SERVICE: We have arranged significantly discounted for our guests. This OPTIONAL service is $110 and includes: 11 wrapped sets each containing a bath towel, hand towel and rag; A kitchen set containing two dish towels, and a rag; as well as sheets for all the beds (bed making included).
WHAT YOU MAY WANT TO BRING: A cell phone (there isn’t a phone), sheets/towels/rags (if not utilizing the optional linen service above), beach towels, hygiene products, hand soap, darts made for electronic dart board, blowup floats and sand toys for the lake, and of course groceries.
